Gentle Cleansing-Anything else hurts your skin
2011
Research proving that you should clean the skin gently is now well established. This is the basic first step for all skin types, from normal to oily, dry, blemish-prone, or sun-damaged.
Expensive water-soluble cleansers will not make your face any cleaner, nor are they necessarily any gentler than the less expensive water-soluble cleansers. In fact, the handful of standard cleansing agents used in cleansers is the same all across the cosmetics spectrum, regardless of price.
One more point: The wrong cleanser can cause problems for your skin. For example, a cleanser that is too greasy can create blemishes and make skin feel greasy or oily. A cleanser that is too drying can create combination skin, because drying up skin doesnt stop or change the amount of oil your oil glands produce.
Bar soaps and bar cleansers are typically far more drying than water-soluble cleansers that use gentle cleansing agents. I do not recommend anyone wash with this type of cleanser
Avoid wiping off your makeup. Pulling at your face tears the elastic support tissue in skin, causing it to sag. Think about women you`ve seen wearing heavy earrings and how far that pulls the lobe, eventually making it sag even when the earrings aren’t there!
Use a gentle makeup remover without fragrance or coloring agents to take off the last traces of your makeup. One way to reduce puffy eyes or irritated skin around the eyes is to be sure you get all your makeup off remembering to pull and tug at your skin as little as possible.
