This has been a great year for all Britons- William and Kate finally got married and wow what a wedding it was- remarkable.

THIS autumn/winter 2011-12, designers including Frida Giannini at Gucci, Miuccia Prada, Jean Paul Gaultier and Donna Karan have ushered in a season of sheer Forties glamour, complete with furs, pearls, gloves and shrugs - all revolving around the pencil skirt.

ELABORATE swirls, motifs, polka dots and opulent winter florals - autumn/winter 2011-12's catwalks were a rich collage of print and pattern.

TARTAN, hound's tooth and Prince of Wales checks abounded on the autumn/winter 2011-12 catwalks - with plaid usurping denim as the new key fabric to double up on in your wardrobe. Make like Daks and Yves Saint Laurent - where a Prince of Wales check opened the show - and wear jacket plus dress, or skirt plus blouse.

ACID brights supply the party with an eye-catching pick-up this spring/summer 2011 and provide the perfect base for your Ibiza wardrobe. Inspired by the glow sticks and Happy Faces of the Nineties rave scene, this season's neon colour palette is paired with ladylike silhouettes to give the look a grown-up, modern twist.
